President joins legislators on Capitol Hill.
Late on Tuesday night, members of the president’s party in the Senate announced that they had reached an agreement on setting the nation’s budget for the next year. The plan announced is a record-breaking $3.5 trillion package aimed to fund the ongoing government programs, as well as an expansion of Medicare to include coverage for dental, vision, and hearing.
President Biden also traveled to the Capitol building to meet with legislators to promote his spending goals. A 36-year veteran of the legislative body, President Biden said, “It is great to be with my colleagues, and I think we are going to get a lot done.” This was the first working meeting in Congress since he took office in January of this year.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God’s purposes would be accomplished in the United States.
- For God to align the president’s priorities with God’s will for the nation.
- That Senators would work together across the aisle for the good of the country.
